Know what backs your building.
Your exact product page, quote, order documents, and supplied manufacturer warranties define coverage. We help you find the right document and route a legitimate issue to the right party.
Ask for the exact warranty set.
Coverage can vary by product, panel finish, component, manufacturer, and service provider. We will not substitute a generic promise for your written terms.
Painted panel warranty
These terms apply to covered SMP painted roof and wall panels installed in the continental United States. Your signed warranty sets the terms for your panels.
40 years for paint adhesion
Covers visible cracking, peeling, flaking, or loss of paint adhesion. Starts on the installation date.
30 years for chalking & fading
Covers chalking and color changes beyond the limits in the warranty. Starts on the installation date.
20½ years for corrosion failure
Covers corrosion that causes panels to rupture, fail structurally, or develop holes. Starts on the shipment date.
Coverage depends on proper handling, installation, drainage, and care. Exclusions include cut-edge rust, trapped moisture, and corrosive conditions. Panels within 3,250 feet of a saltwater or brackish shoreline are excluded.
Report a defect to the manufacturer in writing as soon as you find it. Allow an inspection before starting repairs, and keep your invoice and installation records. Coverage requires a signed warranty and paid invoices, and is subject to the supplier’s warranty obligations.
This is a summary of panel coverage. Frame and installation coverage have separate terms. Ask us for the full warranty for your order.
Coverage by product and service
Structural kit components
Coverage, term, transferability, and claim requirements come from the written warranty identified with your exact kit and manufacturer.
Roof, wall panels & finishes
Coating and finish coverage is product-specific. Color, environment, maintenance, and installation conditions may affect the manufacturer’s terms.
Damaged, missing or incorrect delivery
This is handled through the delivery and order-resolution process. Inspect at arrival, document the issue, and notify us promptly.
Concrete, erection & other services
Services are separate from the physical kit purchase. Any workmanship coverage comes from the written agreement with the service provider—not the kit warranty.
Make a claim
Send the order number, affected part, clear photos, date discovered, and a short description. Keep damaged material and packaging until the claim path is confirmed.
- Identify the order. Use the Whitestar order number and the contact information used at checkout.
- Document the condition. Photograph the full component, close-up detail, labels, packaging, and relevant surrounding installation.
- Protect the evidence. Do not discard or alter the affected material until the responsible party confirms next steps.
- Follow the written process. We will help identify whether the issue belongs with the carrier, kit manufacturer, component manufacturer, or separate service provider.
The written terms control.
Common limitations can include improper storage, inadequate site preparation, third-party installation errors, unauthorized modifications, lack of maintenance, normal weathering, corrosion environments, or loads beyond the approved design. Your exact warranty—not this overview—determines coverage and duration.
